With my continued 14 years of experience in the veterinary field, it has become increasingly noticeable that there is a significant lack of resources available to pet owners who are struggling with the difficult reality of their beloved pet’s life and health challenges. Unfortunately, average veterinary care often does not extend beyond medical treatment to provide the additional support and resources that clients need when facing the overwhelming and devastating process of saying goodbye to their furry family members. However, this gap in care does not have to remain unaddressed. Both animals and their owners deserve to be fully educated about the options available—not only for their pets’ comfort and well-being but also for their own emotional support and peace of mind.
